2012 Summer Olympics, the biggest carnival of sports, officially known as the Games of the XXX Olympiad, are due to be held in the City of London England's capital city from 27 July to 12 August 2012.
Meaning of the Olympics
The Olympic Games is a multi-event international sports games set for summer and winter. There have been two generations of the Olympic Games were the first Olympic Games of Antiquity (Greek: ?????????? ??????; [Olympiakoi Agones] (help info)) held at Olympia, Greece. The second, known as the Olympic Movement modern, first held in 1896 in Athens, Greece. The modern Olympics feature the Summer Games and Winter Games. Game Story
The tradition of Olympic flame began during the ancient Olympic Games, over 2700 years in Greece. The flame was lit for each Olympics, every four years, and burned during the games. The flame symbolizes death and rebirth of Greek heroes. There was no torch relay of the Olympic Games of antiquity. The torch relay took place at the 1936 Games in Berlin, Germany.
The Olympic flag features five interlocking rings (blue, yellow, black, green and red) on white background. The rings represent the five parts of the world who joined in the Olympic movement: Africa, America, Asia, Australia and Europe.

The events in the Summer Olympics include: archery, badminton, baseball, basketball, boxing, canoeing, cycling, diving, equestrian, fencing, football (soccer), gymnastics, handball, hockey, judo, canoeing, marathon, pentathlon, tennis, rowing, sailing, shooting, swimming, Taekwondo, tennis, track and field (many running, jumping and throwing events), triathlon, volleyball, water polo, weightlifting, wrestling (Greco-Roman and free).
