Red Driver

Those of us who work in haulage companies sometimes wonder what have we done to deserve a villainous portrayal in the film world. Especially in film series B horror movies, it seems that every time someone gets in trouble on a deserted road, the bad, inevitably, turns out to be a truck driver …

The driver, 'Duel' (1971)

The main character in this film debut film (Steven Spielberg as director) makes the mistake so stupid aggressive overtaking a truck on a deserted mountain road. From that moment, he is hounded by the truck and its driver, until finally able to deceive his opponent off the edge of a cliff. You never see the face of the driver of the tanker in the "duel", and this has become a trend villains in the truck driver on the big screen – most often are the invisible enemy behind the wheel of a tanker or colossal.

Ryder, 'The Hitcher "(1986)

Strictly speaking, the villain in this film is not identified as a truck driver, but does not use those horrible of a truck and a trailer that has earned its way to the list. After embarking on a killer Killing Spree, The Hitcher bonds girlfriend of the hero of the cab and trailer of a large truck. Then use it to tear it in half, presumably to break a large number of safety standards freight in the process!

Red, 'Breakdown' (1997)

As if having a truck driver as a villain just was not enough, seems to be a whole band of them: in this film. At the climax of the film, the red is crushed under the car itself – in a tragic way to go to any truck driver.

Rusty Nail, 'Roadkill' (2001)

After two young men play a prank on a driver truck, known only as "Rusty Nail", through their CB radio (never mess with the trucker's radio!), are persecuted and terrorized them for the rest of the film. Perhaps in homage to "duel", the truck driver in this film is also not seen.

The Creeper, 'Jeepers Creepers' (2001)

In this film, the demonization of Hollywood from truck drivers at a level really ridiculous – the villain of this movie is actually a demon! After being aggressively pursued by another truck on a deserted road (detect a pattern here yet?), A brother and a sister site to the truck driver unloading bodies in a well. As the driver chases them throughout the rest of the film, reveals that it is not a man but is a flesh-eating monster predators. Road hauliers are used to being misunderstood in the film, but this is really pushing it!

The moral of the story is clear: not to disturb a truck driver!

But not all are villains in the film world – now and then, drivers trucks become heroes as well …

Smokey and the Bandit (1977)
