Callaway X22 irons are listed in Golf Digest Hot Game Improvement category Irons, and with good reason. These clubs are rarely designed to handicap high that are also worthy of PGA Tour, as evidenced by the fact that they are in the bag of Rocco Mediate.
This series of clubs are designed to deliver the performance and forgiveness. It has a greater concentration of weight on the perimeter, keeping the desired center of gravity. This means that the blows outside center will fly farther and straighter, and the trajectory of well-hit balls will be high.
It is also the best set of irons in search of a company which has been accused of offering to clubs functional but awkward in the past. Callaway X22 irons have a thin top line and narrow sole, items are generally sheet designed for low handicaps. There is also a polycarbonate tip plug that dampens vibrations in the shaft, taking the sting out of my successes.
A small touch that many will appreciate is that the club is forgiving while providing feedback. Hit the ball off the toe or heel and the ball will fly straight, but she feels differently beaten to a ball perfectly, making it easier to correct.
Callaway X22 irons are easy of taste and a great set for a player who struggles with the irons. It is rare that the whole is enough to forgive a hacker while also having the characteristics of a Tour series, and it is hard to think of another set of irons that might be in the bag of a PGA Tour star as Mediate and 40-handicap hacker playing alongside him in the Pro-Am.
Not a game for all. For starters, do not contain any of the hybrids, and many golfers in this series, so it has become one of the best sellers on the market.
