For those of us who are serious about this wonderful game, golf lessons can be an integral part of the armory that we use in our efforts to master it. OK, I'm sure none of us are crazy enough to think that we will ever get the better of the game, because we all know that as soon as we reached a point where we think we broke, has a bad habit of jumping and biting us in the butt.
From my own experience, however, the sad truth is that some teaching professionals fall short in their efforts to help us play the best golf we're capable of playing, rather than teach their students in a which often focuses on trying to get to play golf are not able to play.
In this series of three articles, I will explain what I mean by sharing some of my own golf lesson experience. However, just before me, I must stress that what I say is not a general critique of education professionals, in fact, he met in the first sentence that I'm a fan of taking golf lessons as a means of improving golf. My goal is twofold: first, to emphasize that care should be taken in the choice of those who trust our game and, secondly, to share one or two small golf tips that can be used to help you play better golf.
I am taking the type of lesson is described in the title in reverse order, so in this, the first of three articles, I'm exploring the "ugly".
1. The Ugly
A few years ago, before I became involved in the golf business in the field of technology and equipment of the club golf club, the worst lesson I've had was with a professional look and who knew, five minutes of departure, which would be very ugly indeed.
OK, went through the questions routine on my game, I took some practice – which tend to go right – focused on my hands and said I was too weak. Fine so far could thinking, but went downhill from there because I was told to move to the left hand on the handle so that my left hand was a bit more on my right hand axis a little more on top to make it stronger.
Now, I will say right now I am with the right hand, you should also know – in case not yet – that for a skilled player stronger the grip, the more you can see the knuckles on his left hand and less on the right hand, put another way, that I do what he wanted me to do (ie make my grip stronger), the program should have told me to do the exact opposite of what he actually said.
From that moment, the lesson that degenerated into a maelstrom of confusion, and I could not get out of there fast enough.
Now, I will not leave This article on a negative note, so I'll mention a little experiment you can use to get an idea of whether access is too strong or too weak, the "lefties" among you, of course, need to do this with the opposite hands.
Grip the club with an exaggerated weak grip, ie obtaining his left hand, both the shaft as you can and above both the right as possible, taking care to keep the square the clubface. Then, set up behind the ball (imaginary or real, whatever), and just relax your hands and wrists. Consider what happens to the clubface, but opens.
Repeat the exercise, only this Once you receive the left hand on top of the axis of everything that can and right hand underneath it, relax your hands and wrists, and note that the club face closes.
Then apply the normal grip, if it is too weak or too strong for you, the effects described above are what will happen in the impact so you need to find the grip that holds the square the clubface when you relax your hands and wrists. Normally, It would mean that being able to see between two and two-and-a-bit the knuckles of his left hand and one to one-and-a-bit in the whole time just to a normal position, but this is to find the right grip for you to address the previous year and remember, if you are a "leftist" is the opposite hand!
The second article in this series takes a look at the "bad" and explain what I mean about the pros trying to get his students to play golf are not able to play.
