Setting goals for fitness training is a first step in giving direction to your exercise program. Objectives of the project a path that leads to the level of health and fitness than you imagine. Of course the actions of their results to be crystallizing their progress on the road.

Examples are: (a) wear jeans size 12, (b) walk 5 miles without stopping, (c), bench press 200 pounds, or (d) reduced body weight ratio of fat to 25%.

2. D irectly Measurable: Each of these results can be evaluated at the beginning of training and assessment through its program. They provide objective indicators of improvement. There will be no question whether or not they have achieved.

3. Directed specific short-term and long term end dates: Set a date for when it expects to achieve its long term objectives. Then set short term targets at specific dates over a timeline (eg monthly, every 6 weeks). Short term goals are the mile markers of checkpoints your progress toward your long-term goals.

4. Realistic and achievable: Given its starting point or the current condition, could potentially achieve those fitness goals in line Projected time?

Goals should be challenging, but not overly aggressive or impossible to achieve. If you mistakenly set your goals too high or too low, adjust the target values and / or dates accordingly.

Examples of good goal statements are:

* Fit into size 14 jeans April 1 and size 12 jeans 1 June.

* Walk 2 miles without rest February 15, 4 miles by April 1, and 5 miles per 1 June.

* Bench press 75 pounds. 5 times on April 15 and 100 pounds. once on 1 June.

* Body to reach 30% by weight of fat on 1 March and 25% on 1 June.
